Hey all!
It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged, but let’s get you folks updated. I am currently studying Mandarin in Beijing and I’m learning a lot, whoot. I’ll admit though, this is the first time on a trip (not counting when I was sick), that I’ve actually been home sick, ahh.
Well, I have class 5 days a week for 4 hours each class and the people in my class are really awesome, plus, our teachers are really kind to us.
BUT! the point of this blog is to tell you about this little dog right outside our apartment complex. On the first day it snowed here, I noticed this little dog outside in the snow, wandering around. I thought at first it belonged to someone since it had a red rope around its neck…however, we ran into her a few more times…and the weather here is also mighty cold.
After seeing the cute puppy and realizing how cold the weather was, Jane decided to start feeding it. So she has made a doggie dish to give it dog food and water. Whenever we notice her on our way home, Jane rushes to get food prepared and we go outside to find it…SO..this dog is ALWAYS around this general area, but..whenever we look for her..shes gone >___< so sometimes..when we go outside to feed her right after we go home..shes gone?! lol…wth?

The day has come. I’m officially…a NEET. What is a NEET? Well…it is me. haha
NEET is an acronym meaning “Not in Employment, Education, or Training.” Can you believe it?? I’m done with school finally and unemployed. It’s a bit strange, waking up and knowing I will never be back in there again unless I go to graduate school. How bizarre. Reality has set in. As many of you know, my former job, which ended this last Tuesday, was a job I had on campus as a student worker. I finished up my final quarter of my
undergrad in summer, and spent the rest of the time working on campus, so the reality of not having school never set in since I was on campus so often.
On my final day and hour of work, I walked through campus as the fall weather set in; the cool winds and rain brushed against my face with a reminiscent feel to it. Usually…I’d be avoiding the rain and walking briskly through it, seeking shelter…but last Tuesday, I enjoyed the rain that set across Red Square for the first time as I walked through the puddles. I could smell the rain, and I could smell the start of school. I never realized how signific ant the weather was to the beginning of a school year until now.
I’m glad I graduated, but at the same time sad that I’m done. Well, onward to something new and better! And..we’ll start it off with me being a NEET for the month =)

Ahh..Look at that cut on my wrist. It doesn’t look so bad in the photo though, but it hurts like crazy. It looks like some failed suicide attempt since it’s neither vertical or horizontal haha >___< I could have some badass story to it and how I got it…or perhaps my dogs slashed me..but no.. Guess how I got this painful mark that was close to bleeding all over the nice bracelet Jane gave me?? A Banana. Yes. That’s right… banana cut me. Wth?

Fun story. I already told the story the other night, but visual aid is always nice =)

So, right above my head, exactly where I sleep, there is a giant yellow stain. There has been a stain there since I could remember though. When I got back from my DC internship, I remember looking up when I got up from bed and thinking…”wow…looks like it got bigger,” but I thought to myself…eh, I’ve been gone for a few months, I probably just imagined things.

Well..sure enough, I woke up one rainy day and noticed that the stain grew in diameter…so I stood on my bed and touched my ceiling to find it damp…
Khang, Mr.Construction, said he could probably patch it up though! awesome. Problem is…we found that there weren’t any holes on the roof, so Khang investigated the side of the house when we were on the roof, and found a crack. Bingo. Let’s patch it up then! Well…another problem was that the area was VERY difficult to reach since it was between 2 roofs and also the corner edge. Our 20ft ladder was too short as well.. So..instead, we did it the ghetto way.
“Jen, hold on to my legs, and don’t let go” and then Khang was on his way to haphazardly patching up the crack as best as he could from the angle he hung by.

It was a messy job..but it seemed to do the trick. As he continued to patch the crack though, he found that the crack extended, so he needed more leverage. Leverage in which I could not support..SO. My bro came in the picture and held me so that gravity wouldn’t have its way with us.

Surprisingly enough, it worked and no one was harmed =D Thanks Khang for doing that! and Jane for taking pics haha
